SPRING FAIR 2008

the first Spring Fair 2008 Oban

LORN held our first event on Thursday 10th April from 10 am to 3 pm at Kintaline Farm Benderloch, Oban.

Producers and customers alike came together to celebrate our local food and creative talent and our natural heritage.

We also had Seil Natural History Group, Parents in Argyll and GRAB here. There are lots more local organisations who have expressed their interest in future events.

We had not been able to give stall holders much notice, many creative producers had only just got their Easter stocks ready, and most farmers here are lambing at this time of year, so there were many apologies from potential stall holders. Even so we all felt it was a great success. Even some grotty weather in the late morning did not dampen anybody's spirits. We estimate that well over 300 people came to see us, and we thank you all.

If you are interested in there being more events like this we need your support. Whether you are an interested consumer or a potential producer or an organisation who would like to have a stand in the future PLEASE get in touch. We need to hear from you. Our aim is to set up fortnightly markets from mid summer - but, as they say, we need YOU!
