Working together to create a sustainable future for our North Argyll community
Another FAB market coming up this Thursday, the last one of the year at the farm.
Simply Scrummy food, and, don't forget, you need to start getting those hristmas presents sorted, what better is there than something unique made with skill and love by local producers. Celtic pyrography, silk scarves, jewellery, feltwork, and cards are just some of the things on offer this week.
As the clocks have gone back and the farmers and crofters need to get back home for their livestock in the remaining light, the trading times of the market for November will be 10 am to 2 pm
On Friday you are invited to the Local Business Forum meeting at the Victory Hall, Benderloch from 6 pm to 7.30pm. This is an opportunity to meet up with other local small business people and chew over some issues, work on some solutions, and get a better understanding of the problems facing us all in this area. This forum is free to all Full LORN members, £5 for others.
There are two more Forum meetings in November - 19th and 29th - all welcome.
Following this from 7.30pm, is a Social Evening - with an open Bar, and a Supper for those who book, (for £5 a person)
This is open to everyone in the community -- join us after the Forum for a casual pint or glass of wine, with friends, family and neighbours. All ages welcome.
The next market, on the 18th of November, is the day before Children in Need, so we are moving into the Victory Hall, Benderloch (just to the right of the South Shian junction to the farm). We will be holding a mega raffle of goodies from the marketeers and other businesses, as well as lots of other fund-raising stalls and activities. If you have a fund-raising idea - silly sponsored activity or stall and would like to book a free stall space, please get in touch as soon as possible so we can promote your Children in Need silliness as widely as possible. There are already plans afoot - keep an eye on the events calender for this market for updates. This market will also be 10 am to 2 pm
The Christmas Fayres in December -- 2nd and 16th - will be at the Victory Hall and will have extended hours and LOTS of fresh meat, and other wonderful goodies for the festive season. There are also already quite a few new marketeers who are booked for these markets. If you are a local creative artists, or food producer, or any other primary business, who would like to join us for these markets, your LORN membership fee will carry you throughout 2011.
The hours will be from 10 am to 3 pm and then from 5.30pm to 8 pm
And if there is anyone who would like to provide Festive entertainment for all our customers -- there is a stage, and a kitchen so any music, demonstrations, chefs or traditional skills, you would be very welcome.
Email market@lorn.org.uk for any more details or booking space, or phone 01631 720223.
