SEAFISH, the authority on seafood, is hosting a free SALSA (Safe And Local Supplier Approval) certification training seminar for local food manufacturers in the Oban area.

Richard Wardell, Training & Accreditation Adviser with Seafish, said: “The SALSA scheme is designed to offer local food manufacturers a standard that is accepted by UK food buyers. It delivers tangible food safety improvements for both suppliers and buyers and can improve your business and increase profit.”

The free training seminar will provide an overview of the SALSA certification scheme, analyse the content of the standard and highlight some of the potential benefits of gaining SALSA certification.

The seminar is free of charge and will start at 10am and finish by 3pm. Lunch will be provided. It will take place at the Falls of Lora Hotel in Connel, near Oban on Wednesday 10 March.
